Between 6 and 14 kids change a lot as players. Knowing roughly what each stage looks like helps you pick the right camp group or training focus.
Ages 6 to 8: fun and lots of touches
At this age the goal is simple: love the ball. Short games, lots of touches and coaches who make it fun matter more than positions or tactics.
Ages 9 to 11: skills start to stick
Kids can now work on first touch, passing with both feet and simple ideas about space. This is a great age for focused one-on-one work on a skill they want to improve.
Ages 12 to 14: the game gets faster
Players start thinking about positions, decisions under pressure and fitness. Many are trying out for travel or school teams, so confidence on the ball becomes a big deal.
Why grouping matters
Kids get more out of a day when they play with others around their size and experience. PTP camps and training are for ages 6 to 14, and the camp finder lets you filter weeks by age band.
